Raja Kayu: King of Trees
WHAT IS RAJA KAYU?
Raja means king and Kayu means tree. Therefore people in southeast Asia call it king of trees. Some people are calling it emperor of trees.
The scientific name is Agathis which is a small genus of 21 species of evergreen tree found around the world and is part of a group once widespread during Jurassic period.
It is rare in some parts of the world due to its tree trunk that light can pass through. Believers of esoteric and magical knowledge consider Raja Kayu as Magical and Powerful.
THREE TYPES OF AGATHIS
Agathis can be found in the deep jungles of Malaysia, which are Agathis Borneensis, Agathis Dammara and Agathis Flavenscens. Each tree is about 35-60 meters tall. According to Wikipedia write up, there are about 1000 matured trees left in the jungles.
